Of course there are those who prefer Krazy Kwanzaa, Ripping Ramadan, or just Bah Humbug, but here we're pretty much ready for Christmas already and I am not going to even try to be PC.
This is a posting to the Christmas log. (I think my brother should take some time and do his own posting. Since he has a bunch of rosters and lists and other memorabilia, how about a Christmas tree-shaped list of all the names the way Bea Stone did in the printed log?)
Our house was on the local Christmas at Cornwall tour this year, we had about 500 people come through. That's why we're already ready for the season.
We have a lot of antiques, pictures and heirlooms, but what attracted the most attention? Our Dane, Lizzie, and our cat. Anyway, it's over, and as of next week when our local choral society does its quinquennial (every five years) Messiah concert, we will be able to relax a bit.
Michael (Mike to all of you) is coming east before Christmas, and the next night we are having a carol sing for about 20 or 30 folks, then a couple of family dinners over Christmas and New Years, and suddenly it's really quiet and dark. Ever notice that a snowfall before Christmas is beautiful, and after Christmas it's bleak?
Another midwinter phenomenon I always keenly felt when Wyanoke was still running: Before Christmas my thoughts went back to the previous season, and after Christmas I started anticipating the next year. It was a dramatic shift in orientation. Anyone else feel that way?
Well, gotta go, I have chapel police and am wharf man during quiet hour. Is that welsh rabbit I smell coming from the general direction of the dining hall? Oh boy! Saltines and cheese sauce for dinner will be enjoyed by all. It does you good to go to bed hungry now and again.
Merry Christmas, may your Christmas dinner be welsh rarebit and creamed beef on toast and your Christmas breakfast be bacon and toast, buttered with a paintbrush. _________________ Living with wife Vicki happily retired after we moved back to Cornwall, Pa. |

It's hard to believe that Christmas and the New Year will be upon us in 2 and 3 weeks! Where does the time go? I had the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving in NH and ME with family which was a great time. Also, what a great time to see Wolfeboro! The town Christmas tree had been set up in front of Black's Paper Store but had not been decorated yet. I'm sure it is now.
The Culleton family would like to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year! Can't wait until next summer's reunion!

Pat,
Wow. I hadn't thought about Bea Stone's Christmas Tree - shaped list of names in 30 years. It was a neat feature of the Christmas Log.
Congrats on being on the Xmas tour in Cornwall. I can remember attending reunions at your family's Cornwall house in the late 70s. We had some very cold touch football games in the side yards as I remember. And those dogs! The size of horses!
I really enjoyed visiting with you and Mike at the reunion last summer. I wish I could have stayed over to Sunday to visit with Vicki as well.
