Check out the second name from the top in the left column of the 1910 camp roster:

Now check out this:

Same guy? Was Wyanoke's "Howard Johnson" the Howard Johnson, at the age of 12?
Did I miss/sleep through something everybody else has known for years... wouldn't be the first time ... or is it just a coincidence and a different guy? _________________ Camper: J-8 1965 (Kevin Ryan), J-8 1966 (Mike Freeland), S-6 1967 (Russ Hatch), S-3 1968 (Jeremy Cripps), and JA-2 1969 (Dan Mannis).

Nope, never mind... very likely not the same guy... in the 1911 roster, Wyanoke's HJ's middle initial was "M", and the famous one's middle initial was "D".
It would be interesting to see what summer had the first Wyanoker famous enough to have a current Wikipedia lead article written about him, and someday in my copious free time... _________________ Camper: J-8 1965 (Kevin Ryan), J-8 1966 (Mike Freeland), S-6 1967 (Russ Hatch), S-3 1968 (Jeremy Cripps), and JA-2 1969 (Dan Mannis).
