A long, long time ago during a cabin town fair when we were all much younger and I was either a senior or a JA someone placed me in "jail." It was a wonderful day, a slight breeze, sun shining through the trees, birds were chirping, campers were having a blast, councilors were being their cantankerous selves-oh the heck with it, you get the picture. Step by step I went up onto the platform, walking past the first row, and there she was, Mrs Bentley sitting in the back row. Oh why did I decide to sit in the back row too? Suddenly time slowed down and things went into slow motion. As I slid past the first empty chair I started to pass in front of Mrs. B. The sky began to shoot in front of my face," it seemed like I was floating. What was happening to me? "Oh Sh**, I thought to myself, "I'm falling...and Mrs. B is underneath me. Don't land on her, DON'T LAND ON HER!" Somehow I landed at an angle and was able to catch myself without landing full force on Mrs. B. Each of us survived falling backwards off the platform about 3 1/2 feet and landing on our backs. I couldn't look at Mrs. Bentley in the eye for a very long time. In fact, I tried to stay away from her, until the fateful day I was invited to... sit at their table on the porch. If this was a movie, the camera would now zoom onto the table with the sound track from the Psycho shower scene. But alas, besides probably dropping some food in my lap (I really don't remember), the company although daunting, was delightful and the meal was more than likely enjoyed by all, and I got along with Mrs. Bentley just fine. _________________ Jim Graves

That was one Major Memory, and sometimes we pull them out to examine them over and over again.
I received an injury at Camp Wyanoke (through Misadventure-By-Self) that had Mrs. Bentley fanning me due to my perception of overheating. Between the nurse and Mrs. Bentley, I felt very good about the care I was receiving that day, and won't ever forget it

That's the same kind of day we're having on Wyanoke's shores right this minute! _________________ Gordon B. (Father) Wyanoke ~1929-1937
