I am periodically updating the "sticky" reunion post, leaving this here for archival purposes only. Please plan to join us!!!!

We'd have it here, Cornwall Pa, which is about 20 minutes from Hershey and just north of Lancaster County. There is a lot to see and do here in addition to Hershey, and we can even introduce you to some real live Amish friends. We have plenty of room and hotels/motels/B and B's close by. I'd be interested in how many would be interested in joining us. Steve Hood suggested as a date range, the latter part of July or early August.

On another topic, Steve suggested if Dave Clemens the Elder comes we'd have the complete set of the Pacesetters and could sing the college medley, I responded that I still remember the college medley. I once asked a friend from high school who went to Dartmouth what the heck "Dudley's Bus" is. He doesn't know. In case your memory fails, the Dartmouth song says

I want to go back to Dartmouth,
To Dartmouth on the hill
Way up on the top pf Dudley's bus
away from all the noise and fuss...

I gather it's a bus guys used to take to the campus, but don't know. It calls to mind the song we sang at camp about RV Adjutant who drove the camp bus. We sang it to the tune of Amherst, Oh RV, Brave RV (that's all I remember of that).

So respond to this post or email me at pfreeland@comcast.net and let me know yes/no and a date preference if any.
Pat

Hi, Pat..... and everyone else.

Yea, I think it would be good to have a reunion. But the ultimate success would be contingent upon a reasonably strong turn-out. Next summer is a long way away, but I would be interested....

In my earlier private post back to Pat, I mis-spoke. The "original" Pace Setters were: Goose Tatum, Pat Freeland, Mike Freeland and Steve Hood. Dave Clemmens was not actually part of that group -- but he is the person who introduced the "College Medley" of songs.

Pat, you can count me in for next summer. Since I recently retired I can usually keep my schedule open. It will be great to see you, your family, Mike and others who can attend.

BTW do you know what ever happened to Mervin Pifnik's trunk, or Mervin for that matter? He was that camper that never showed up for the '61 or '62 season . . . . . but his trunk did! Rolling Eyes Maybe he'll show up in Cornwall!

My best to you and Vicki

Jim

I would be interested in a reunion too. The first week of August and last two weeks of June are probably booked too. Other than that I could make time.

This sounds like fun, but I'm not at all sure I can make it. We're going to Europe for most of next June, and I don't know that I can turn around and head right back east again after that. However, I'll keep an eye on the website and keep an open mind. Thanks for the idea and the offer, Pat.

Question Will Camp Wyanoke hats be available there—in blue? Very Happy

Having attended Wolfeboro's Brewster Academy 50th Reunion—with great trepidation—I still had a great time although I'd had little contact since graduation and had attended none of the others. Shocked

July and August is a period when I manage rentals of my Winter Harbor cottage. I can more easily schedule a Wyanoke Reunion for the middle of April or May, or within a few weeks nearing the end of September.

For the "latter part of July or early August" here's an outside chance of my hitching a ride with another J-7 Wyanoker. Smile

Hi, Pat -- and other Wyanokers...

We are getting closer and closer to the last weekend in July, and I am trying to remain available. There is going to be a Hood reunion or sorts, and at one point is looked like there might be a conflict. But as of now, it looks like that last weekend in July will work. I hope so.

PAT: Have any agenda plans been generated? I assume it will be during the day on Saturday. Are any activities planned for the time in between reveille and taps??? I am wondering: (1) will many people be arriving earlier and/or staying later to do any sight seeing in the area?? (2) will many people be bringing their wives??? I am thinking that if I can make it, my wife might like to tag along, so I am wondering if other wives will be involved.

I need to get back on line and surf around to learn more about the area. I know almost nothing about southeastern Pennsylvania. I guess you are near Gettysburg, and some of the historic areas of the Civil War.

Maybe others will pick up on this theme and chime in. And I might be emailing you privately with additional ideas/questions, etc.

Chers to all,

Steve
