Well, here it is. This is the same board they're using at Wolfeboro.com, so if you ever go there, this will be familiar.

I hope this attracts some more people to leave messages. Those of you who visit the site and don't leave a hint of who you are and that you visited, are really doing a disservice to the rest of us who'd be thrilled to get back in touch with you -- the whole idea behind this site.

PLEASE! click on "Register" above and fill in the form.

When you do visit here for the first time, leave a note in this forum just saying you were here. That's all I ask.

Looks good, I will wander around in the site for awhile to get my bearings. I have used sites similar to this before. It looks likeI will be able to attend the reunion in august. I am planning to bring the kids, are you planning on going?

You sure were lucky to have gotten into the new forum this afternoon -- I've been tinkering with it all day. Thanks for registering too. As you can see, this will let me set up an alumni list and keep it from the general public, unless of course the general public registers too.

I plan to be at the reunion, and at the moment, don't have anything which would prevent me from being there. The kids'll enjoy it.

This forum module is called PhpBB and it's used in a LOT of sites. It's much easier for the users to navigate, so I hope it'll get more people leaving messages here. The lack of use on the other forum was disappointing.

Hey Mike,
Glad to see you've got this up and running. Is this the same system we talked about a few months ago?

I'm curious because I may want to set one up on a website I am working on for my kids soccer club. Did it take much effort?

Anyway, keep up the good work. I love coming back to the site to find new photos. I've been trying to find mine but haven't had much luck yet.

Hi Tom, Yeah, this is PhpBB. It can be a bit daunting and for my part, I'm not familiar with php, but I'm learning quickly. It's not really too bad to implement.

I may come back looking for help if I ever get to implementing it on our site.

I am such a computer klutz that most computer technology eludes me, but I am aware enough of the technology involved to know that Mike has put in an enormous amount of time and energy to make this "new" Council Room page function, let alone the entire web site. To Mike I offer sincere Thanks for your work. I look forward to casual communications on this site, and I am sure that once users become comfortable with the format there will be a lot of interesting posts.

Wolfeboro is settling in for yet another storm, maybe up to 12", on top of our already substantial base. It certainly makes March 21st look like a welcome turning point (hopefully). There were many fish houses (bob houses) on Winter harbor this winter, several right in the camp boating area. Of course, snowmobiles are all over the place, on the harbor, crossing at the Carry Beach to complete their run from Mirror Lake (and north) to Wolfeboro Bay (and south). As usual, the navigation bouys did not survive the snowmobilers.

Again, many Thanks to Mike for his work.

I am a long way from being "Up in New Hampshire Hills" living in Phoenix, Arizona but I think some of the lessons learned during the summers spent at Wyanoke live on in me today, especially the joy of hiking and camping. I am the Scoutmaster for my son's scout troop and once a year tell the story of "The Golden Arm," -it's a troop favorite. Spring break is a week away and my wife and I will be hiking into the western portion of the Grand Canyon for a 3 night/4 day trip to Havasupai Falls with members of my scout troop. It's suppossed to be one of the most beutiful spots in AZ, but it's a 10 mile hike to get there! Remember conditioning hikes all over the campground? During the last 2 weekends we have had two, complete with full backpacks. It's great to read what old friends have to say and reminisce of summers long ago. Mike "muchos gracias" for all that you are doing!

ok ok all you guys...
I have not posted a picture..maybe I'll gather the courage to do so soon.
the problem is, that while reading wyanoke "stuff" I'm a young man again.
posting a picture would make me just like all the rest of you "old guys".

not sure that I want to burst the image you may have of me as rakishly handsome, and young !!!

OK, come on Ken, you should know that this is all makeup and filters. We don't really look like this. I still look forward to the Wolfeboro Inn after taps. Lion Head up Mt. Washington would take me all week to do, but it's because everyone else wants to rush, where I have decided that slowing down is just the thing.

Also, there seems to be some perverse truth in the old saying "What used to work doesn't, and what does work hurts".

Did you mean that you were "rakishly yansome and hung"?

I'm just back from the sunny south to find this new project of Mike's, and it's looking good. If I had a clue about posting a picture, I'd go find one, though the young and handsome photos are now old and brittle.

Still hoping to fall ill around the time of the reunion: there's no telling if I can snag that time as vacation time. Should be able to get there though.

Best to all --

During the past week I have hunted low and hunted high and have been able to find most of my Wyanoke memorabilia. Mike is apparantly working on giving us the capability of uploading things pretty soon. As much as I take pictures now I am surprised I did not take more as a camper or councilor. I have most of my Farewell Banquet and Christmas Logs, my notes from the Chapel program from 74 and 75, the professional pictures taken which I purchased from 68 through 75, some letters and even bills my parent's paid. Mr. Bentley (I can't bring myself to call him Brad)gave me the alter front from Sunday chapel after the camp closed, and have it ina closet.

Mike, you seem to have done a really great job setting this up.
Hopefully, my registration was done correctly and, "yes" I'd like to join the group in August with my wife Norma (I met her in Wolfeboro when I was working in the kitchen).
I'm listed in the 1957 Camp Roster - Senior 1.
This brings back some long forgotten memories.

What brought me here is a search for photos of the sailboats we used in the 1950's (Pert Lowell Co., Town Class Sailboats, I think).
I found one photo in the 1940 catalog that will work but others would be nice.
I plan to share them with the Pert Lowell Co. for their historical files.

I've just registered, and look forward to hearing from fellow campers. David Bentley had been in touch with me about 2 years ago. Great to hear back from people from Wyanoke.
